NEW DELHI / ISLAMABAD — Tensions continue to rise as Pakistan signals a possible new offensive front from the east in response to India’s recent cross-border military operations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing global leaders, hinted at a shift in military strategy following India’s Operation Sindoor, which involved long-range precision strikes in May 2025.
The strikes, described by Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan as highly targeted and impactful, were not designed to seize territory but to create a significant psychological effect. “The operation wasn’t about physical domination, but strategic messaging. The strikes penetrated deep with unmatched accuracy,” said General Chauhan. He confirmed that Operation Sindoor is still ongoing.
General Chauhan stressed the importance of evolving military strategies to counter modern warfare. “We must prioritize synergy across the Army, Navy, and Air Force to keep up with rapidly changing threats,” he said, referring to the growing relevance of short, precise operations like Operation Sindoor.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military and political leadership, notably Asim Munir, have responded aggressively, indicating a possible “eastern front” approach. Reports suggest that Pakistan is recalibrating its strategy, potentially opening a new front to counteract the psychological and strategic pressure exerted by India's precision warfare.
With over a hundred Indian strikes launched deep into enemy territory and the Indian armed forces remaining on high alert, regional security analysts warn of escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
Stay tuned for further developments on Operation Sindoor and Pakistan’s next move.
